2007 LEVEL CAMP!
Sigh. I have a server problem yesterday so this post is sort-of late....2007 LEVEL CAMP!
The last few days were level camping. Lemme Narate!! =D I'm watching
Devil Beside you at the same time... haha
DAY 16:30a.m. I carried
my SLINGBAG AND BACKPACK AND SLEEPING
BAG. And god, everyone was practically looking at me. i stood
opposite the entrance, leaning on the walls. I didn't really dare to sit
though. I would look clumsy when I get off my seat man. Haha!
8a.m.Finally reached school! But, I was all sweaty and
everything. IMAGINE THIS: wearing track pants in
BROAD DAYLIGHT !!!
Flag raising and everything.... it lasted for a bloody hell 15 minutes!
And god, it was shooooo HUMID. THe teacher-in-charge talked and
talked and talked and talked and talked........
#&*$^#&&@#^&@^&%^(&(*&**!!!
When we could FINALLY set off.....
Where? TO CLASS!
We were asked to piece the puzzle of the map of Dunman High of Ghim
Moh. Haha. of of of of of. Confused? hehe.
That took us quite a long time and by the time we solved the riddle to
leave by the back gate, we were ranked 7th out of 12 classes.
Sounds bad?? I think it's okayy though since 5 classes are behind
us.... FAR FAR FAR BEHIND US......
BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT
BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT
BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT
BUT BUT BUT!!!
We were the 11th to go off!! I can't believe this man. They were like
selecting randomly over who should go up the buses and we were like in
the middle of all the columns so when they started from the left, the
right, the left the right, then what's lefft?????? US!!!
So let me start with where we went. Everyday, we would go to 3
stations.
The first station was Bedok. We went to a stadium which I forgot
the name, and learnt....
SILAT!!
It was just simply pretty and the silat teacher was super nice!!
She made many great jokes and well, we enjoyed Silat even more.....!!!
What's more, she gave us 48/50!! The points would affect our score at
the end greatly.
The second station was school. No fun. We were supposed to discuss what we would do when given a
situation and had to list out the reasons for either of the choices.
Siians bahs?
We arrived about 5 minutes late and when we arrived, 1A, which was waiting for us, sort-of give
us the 3 cheers for 1K stuff. Although it was meant to sort-of encourage us, you can bet, NOBODY
IN OUR CLASS FELT GOOD. There was just an unsaid feeling of them jeering at us. So well, I don't
know if they could feel or understand how we felt. It would have been best if they shut up
though... XD
And when we finished our presentation, they also cheered for our class. Oh yahs, when we started
our presentation then, they also cheered for us. But FOR THEIR OWN CLASS?? NO NO NO NO NO
NO NO NO NO NO!@!!!! I don't exactly know what they are thinking about man!!
What's more, it's in CHINESE! There were two cases altogether
namely:
was saved by a man called Master Lu. Master Lu fostered him for 20 years
and during the period of 20 years, James managed to make his mark as a
smallcook. After the 20 years, a small mistake made by Master Lu would
cause him to lose his job and leave his company. Master Lu is requesting James to help him
shoulder the responsibilities of the mistake that he made.
So, there are two choices:
1. help him shoulder the responsibilities
2. Heck care about him.
Then we were given about 15 minutes to discuss and form 3 groups. There would be 2 people who
would record the opinions for either of the choices. Then the rest of the people would revolve
round the three groups. Then, each class would send a representative to sort-of present their
dicussions and everything made by the whole class...
And well, what's more, it was in Chinese so that was totally boring...!!!
However, this was not a match that would affect them at all. However, it would the results of the
match that would decide which opponent they would be playing against in the semi-finals. The
winner would be against AAS (a supposedly stronger basketball team) and well, the chances of
entering the finals would be like 0??? However, the loser would get to play with a supposedly
lousier team and they would get to enter the finals, although their opponents would still
supposedly be AAS.
Sorry for the continuous repetition of using the word Supposedly because in the basketball
world, there is no such thing as CONFIRM. So well, the opponents for this scenerio is using the
most likely possibility kayy?? =D
So well, the question that we were asked was that if we (DHS) would want to lose the basketball
match or play as normal. It's just simple to lose the basketball match though. Just play fake
basketball lorhs. Don't defend and get some reserves up to play. That's just simple. But winning
the game would also be rather simple if the opponents don't even wanna defend at all. =D
So, the whole groupings and proceess is repeated and everything.....
And our conclusion is::.....
TO WIN THE MATCH
Well, the reason is simple: For face and well, playing fake basketball could cause the team to be
disqualified. And by playing fake basketball is not a good display of sportsmanship at all
man!!
And we got a bloody 34/50 points out of it. Damn, that totally pulled our spirits down.
I know our class's chinese is not as good as other classes, for example 1A, and that's simply
because our class don't have any chinese (I mean as in people from blooming CHINA), but there's
no need to be so obvious in the results given right? Sigh. anyway, we were rushing all the way...
hoping to be the first few.....
The whole reasoning thing took about 2 hours or was it 1 hour? I'm not so sure! Anyway, after
that, we took the bus to Woodlands. OUR THIRD STATION! I didn't know what the name of the
polytechnic we went to but I know that the polytechnic is very new and it's BIG
style="font-size: 105%">BIG BIG! Well, we learnt how
to play the Gamelan, a malay musical instrument and everything.
Well, it was fun hitting drums and everything but there were many embarrassing moments. I played
the wrong tune and was OUT OUT OUT OUT OUT OUT OUT. I didn't hear my own instruments and well,
mistook them for another one and I think I synchronised with a wrong musical instruments. The
time when I started and hit my musical instrument was simply wrong. That was like simply
embarrassing man!
I DIDN'T STOP OR CHANGE THE TIMING OF ME PLAYING THE MUSICAL
INSTRUMENT EVEN WHEN THE INSTRUCTOR REPEATEDLY SAID THAT I WAS OUT OF TUNE!!
My classmates were like all laughing their asses off man. Hahas. I couldn't believe it and I
can't believe it lorhs.
Then we had a sort-of drama or whatsoever. We were supposed to like plot out a story and write
out the script. Okayy, not we, some of our classmates. The rest were supposed to play the
appropriate musical instrument, fitting the scenerio of the story. Well, it wasn't really
successful because everybody was practically playing the same thing. Haha.
The whole thing lasted for 2 hours and well, guess what we got??
just so disheartening man.
So after that, we went back to school and guess our ranking>? 11/12.
1L was behind us though. I think by about 3 or 5 minutes. They must have felt unfair man. bloody
unfair. Lunch was at Ghim Moh market and Dinner was at Dunman.
The bathing process was like.... SHIT.
Let me tell you the whole bathing process man. It's just insane.
They transformed the boys toilet to a gals toilet for the gals to use. Well, this is not the
insane part since they transformed the gym's gals toilet for the boys to use.
When we entered the bathroom, the floor was wet and we could practically see hair around the
filter part. I wonder if we call that filter but the white patchy thing that has holes for water
to seep to the pipe or something like that... yeah, there was lots of hair,
style="font-size: 105%">hair, and HAIR!!.
And well, that sort-of gave me creeps.
There was a cubicle that could allow us to shower i guess. But I didn't have the chance to try
it. The rest of the 4 cubicles were plain toilets. You know, toilet and everything. Then how
would we bathe?
The method is simple, use the obiang method.
Pails
and scoops.
Alarming horh? It's just so A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. And we were only given about 5 minutes although some
people shot that by about 10 minutes? Hahs.
There was a pail sitting prettily near a cubicle and I was wondering why no one was using it.
When Teri and I peered over that, we were like:
WALAO!
You guess what I saw...... I gonna minimise the size of the font once again... >.<
A sanitory pad in the middle of a whole godly pail of supposedly
clean water!!!
That's totally gross man. And that's a super waste of a clean pail.
To save time, I washed my hair at the basin and well, just washed my body when I entered the
cubicle. Anyway, I don't think i would have enough water to wash my hair too bahs. Haha.
Dinner was boring with just rice and curry. THey said it was indian rice but I don't think so.
Then we went back to class to prepare for the FUSION NIGHT on the third day of the level camp. It
was damn super messy but I'm glad we manage to pull it off. Everybody was practically shouting,
trying to get the class to listen but I don't think it really worked though..... We decided to
use silat as one of the components of our item and well, we did really sort-of argue and changed
a lot of times over what we wanted to present the whole thing.
So let's just say that DAY 1 was not a success at all.
Supper was worse. They gave us corn bread. That tasted... urms, weird? There were three
flavours...
- chocolate... top choice of course!! XD
- vanilla... second choice
although there were not many of it... - CORN.... well, this tasted the most disgusting but
it was also the flavour that was the most in number lorh...
=D
i thought we were like suppose to snatch and CHIONG for the place in the hall but it seemed not
to be. we were supposed to sleep in columns according to class. So since our class was 1K, a
class that is like near to the end... we were ABLE TO SLEEP NEAR THE DOORS!!
That was the shiokest thing ever man! Haha! The shiokest thing about being the last few classes
man! There were many disadvantages shown to us at the start of the whole level camp. we would be
the near-to-last class to bathe, to set off and everything.
But FINALLY......!!
Haha. I'm just crazy maybe. Anyway, the hall was practically hard and the sleeping bag was thin
so it did not really make much of a comfortable night. I spent about 1 hour talking to Sing Rue
before dozing off to sleep.... =D
Ahah!
But I could still manage to wake up the next day!! And did not slack. So that's something that
you should really congratulate me I guess... :D
DAY 2Woke up at 6 I guess. and well, nothing much.
Breakfast was corn bread. yeah. again.
I think I gonna try to shorten this post and not give such a precise description bahs... =D But I
wanna blog to imprint this rather-disastrous level camp in my mind. Then compare this post with
next year's level camp. =D Uh ha!! XD
Today was slightly better I guess....
FIRST STOP
Fencing!
Cool right? i Was very interesting in Fencing ever since I watched Goong. Well, and we fought it
well and god was the mask HEAVY! We learnt some basic foot steps and how to tackle the
opponent. We did this at United Square. There's a company called Z Fencing....
It didn't look really appealing when we fought it out or maybe let's say that it did not look
PROFESSIONAL as we seemed to be poking each other with forks lidat. Haha. But heys, we learnt
what we were supposed to learn in just 2 hours okayy!! SO give us some credit for that!!
Then It was lunch at MacDonalds and I think I don't wanna elaborate on it bahs. Just that there
were some irritating schoolguys who were trying to get some attention. And I bought a student
meal. ^^
We got 34/50 for this too
Next up was opera dancing!!
Walao!
This time, we waited for 1A. Haha. for a whole 15 minutes....
And the whole opera dancing left me vomitting in the end man. We were supposed to dance with
fingers like urms... you know the "I love you" sign? Yeah, except that the fourth finger is also
left sticking out!!
Yicks! How "feminine" that was horh.... We got a wholy 34/50 for this again
The LAST STATION
Pweettyy INDIAN DANCE!
This dance really tested us on our co-ordination man! I didn't know that my co-ordination was so
sucky de! I thought I was great in the past you know.... Hah. SOrry larhs. Learning something
called thick-skin to counter some idiotic people in school... XD DOn't mind me horhs. =D
And we had to tap our feet really fast and I got lost in the way. The turning 360 degrees was
also shitty. i wonder how the male instructor could do it so fast man. His co-ordination really
rocks. And you know what? He could tap his feet really really FAST
AND LOUD!! It's really alarming man. And if you look at his hands, he did it perfectly
well. And if you notice his feet, it's also PERFECT! SO there's no error at all!! OMGGGG
It was fun altogether. Although it was embarrrassing to spin around with me losing my balance.
Although I didn't fall. hehe. You hoped I did right?
And we were soon back in school for dinner. The whole bathing procedure repeated itself and
everything repeated itself larhs. Nothing much to elaborate de....
DAY 3Today we only had 1 station to go!
THE SINGAPORE DISCOVERY CENTRE!
However, something was really different. INstead of going with lovely Kezo, we were separated!! BBooooo Hooooo!!
Haha. Since i was register number 5, I was in a group that was with the second half of Lectra. And well, that's mostly boys and the whole experience really sucked.
Firstly, lemme tell you about the experience on the bus. My class was playing Dare or Dare and I was dared to say "I'm sexy, naughty and bitchy" in the middle of the bus and shouted it out loud. Well, I didn't exactly shout but the volume was just nice for people at the back to hear. They were like wo0ting and then they started their own game of Dare and Dare. And the whole experience was super terrible! I think they don't have a sense of creativity at all man!
Their dares were something like:
Disgusting right? It was so boring seeing them play Dare or Dare compared to our class's boys man! OUr class rocks more!! =D
Weee!!
And finally, we reached the Singapore Discovery Centre! I'm really amazed at it's technology and interactivity man! There were many fun games that kept reminding us to be vigilant and on alert for any suspicious items or behaviour lurking around. And I enjoyed myself thoroughly.
And finally.... for....
FUSION NIGHT!
We didn't really like prepare a lot for thiis fusion night thingy but more of my classmates were like panicky. Ah yahsl. who cares man.
And I think we flunked it well. Haha. And the musical chairs right, I got kicked out the very first round le. it was so bloody unfair. I don't wanna explain in details in case I kana flamed by the people from that class. Whatever it is, I sat it right at the start and that bloody guy pushed me away. And I bet I'm lighter than him!! ><
We got second last for Fusion Night. Haha. That was the result told the day after that.
LAST DAY!! DAY 4!!This day was just evaluation day. The teachers in charge told us about our behaviour and we sang the level song: YOu'll be in my Heart by Phil Collins. The atmosphere was super nice man. =D
Everybody was landing their hands on each others' shoulders and we swayed. And jumped. Everybody was hyper, except some act-cool guys....
ANd we played DARE OR DARE again! Haha. I was the third last person to be dared and guess what my dare was?
PROPOSING TO A GUY!
That was so embarrasing man! I thought it was the other way round? Haha. Anyway, when I got onto my knees, the whole class was laughing their asses out. -_-
HOMETIME!
Sorry for this super long post man. I know I added in lots of unnecessary details but that's to make-up for the no-post for about 1 whole week! Enjoy school people!!
